Spend two days in a small intimate class setting learning from our Master Clinicians Mentors on fundamental skills & procedures needed in urgent care or emergent settings. The bootcamp consists of 4 half day workshops: Laceration Repair, Ortho Splinting, EKG and Xray Review, for a total of 20 AMA PRA Category 1 CME credits.

  • Learn and perform 5+ suturing techniques including simple interrupted stitches, continuous stitches, buried stitches, vertical mattress, and horizontal mattress.

  • Learn proper orthopedic splinting techniques and perform 5+ splints using fiberglass including posterior mold, thumb spica, ulnar gutter, etc. Review the indications for common orthopedic products such as slings, crutches, immobilizers, metatarsal pads, night splints, cam walker, surgical shoe and wraps.

  • You will go through several team based exercises on EKG and Xray interpretation and learn systematic approaches to reading both in an acute care setting.

Workshop Mentors

This 2 day workshop is taught by Dr. Gino Farina and Professor Ed Giarusso and is worth 20 CME credits.
